Case study: How local insights created international customer success

A European company hired a senior remote role in Vietnam through our headhunt + EOR service. This is what happened when the early signals didn't add up — and why local visibility made the difference.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Early warning signs during probation are easy to miss when you manage a hire remotely.

  • In new markets, cultural communication gaps can hide problems until they surface too late.

  • Clear observations and facts, supported by evidence, helped the client act before bigger damage.

The situation

From day one, we stayed close to both sides — the client and the employee.

But because this was a senior position, the client allowed the employee significant autonomy. Trust was there. And autonomy came with it.

Early warning signs

In the beginning, during the probation period, we noticed patterns that didn't feel right:

  • Commitments not followed through.

  • Inconsistent communication.

  • Signals that didn't match what was reported.

Nothing dramatic yet. But the signals were there.

The client's decision

We informed the client immediately. At that stage, they could have replaced the candidate.

But our client was very patient and decided to give the candidate more time. We stepped back, but continued to observe the candidate's behavior.

Things got worse

Over time, the situation became clearer. Performance did not improve.

Even more concerning, we began seeing signs of behavior that raised serious questions about transparency and integrity.

At that point, silence was no longer an option.

Why this happens in new markets

For many international companies hiring remotely:

  • Early signals can be hard to read.

  • Cultural communication gaps can hide problems.

  • Issues appear slowly — not suddenly.

Without local visibility, risks often surface too late.

We stepped in

We pushed harder. We shared clear observations and facts, supported by evidence, to help the client see the full picture.

It wasn't a comfortable conversation. But it allowed the client to act before the situation created bigger damage.

The result

  • The company stopped losing money and time on a role that wasn't working.

  • Trust in the Vietnam market was preserved.

What partnership means

At Jade Halo Bridge, partnership means more than recruiting talent, EOR/PEO, or a sales agent.
